PVA foam, sometimes referred to as Polyvinyl Alcohol (formalized) foam, is a high tech plastic foam that has the same properties and qualities of a natural sea sponge. Static-free and lint-free, PVA Sponge is hydrophilic with porosities from 55% to 95%. The surfaces of each foam can be engineered for specific applications - from very smooth pores to large open pores like sea sponges. All deliver an exceptionally high volume and speed of absorption,actually holding many times the volume of liquid. Elasticity and tensile strength properties help to provide durability and allow the material to last much longer than other materials.
Our PVA foam dressing is used as a mechanical barrier, for compression& for absorption of exudates & blood in nasal cavity after rhinal operation. The product is packaged in aluminum foil and PE/Permeate paperdouble packages to ensure microbiology barriers.
Nasal sponge dressing is made of soft, absorbent and highly retentive polyvinyl alcohol sponge.The foam will expand quickly when the dressing contacts with blood or fluid. The expanded foam provides quick and effective control of epistaxis.
